The successful candidate will be involved in scientific research aimed at defining a new exhibition project of archaeological materials, within the framework of the existing collaboration between the IMT School and the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia (Rome). In particular, in cooperation with the Museum and with the School's area scientific managers, the selected person will work on the study and reorganization of the archaeological collection and on the collection and processing of data for the definition of a project for the reorganization of the rooms of the Etruscan collection. The researcher will actively participate in the research program, on which he/she will have direct responsibility; he/she will foster continuous and constant cooperation between the different institutions involved by coordinating the research, collaborating with a primary role in the planning and management of the activities and ensuring support for the conception of the exhibition project, including through the application of innovative tools and techniques;he/she will strategically enhance the interaction with the students of the School, encouraging their involvement in all phases of the project. Particular attention will be paid to the definition of a proposal aimed at strengthening the links between scientific research and the dissemination of cultural content and improving qualitatively and quantitatively the services offered by the Museum.

 

Profile

 

The candidate should have solid training and background in archaeology. Experience in the study and valorization of collections, with particular reference to contexts of pre-Roman Italy, of which in-depth knowledge proven by scientific publications is required. Skills in cultural heritage management and experience in setting up and organizing museums and collections will be strongly valued. Ability to work in teams, including with reference to multidisciplinary research, is required.

 

Formal requirements

 

-have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent degree as of May 15, 2025, awarded in Italy or abroad who:
- have completed the doctoral course having carried out a period, of at least 3 months, of training and research abroad 
-have not gained consolidated experience in the management of research groups and are not in a contractual position that guarantees them stable career prospects in research.
This definition includes those who:
- as of February 20, 2025, the date of publication of D.D. No. 47/2025, have not completed their 41st year of age
or
- as of February 20, 2025, the date of publication of D.D. No. 47/2025, have not completed their 46th year of age and have completed their PhD for a maximum of 7 years
Applicants and candidates must also be in one or more of the following conditions:
- need to gain initial experience as a fund manager and/or research activity;
- need to gain experience in leadership and management of a national and/or international research team;
- do not have or have not had a permanent Full Time Equivalent (FTE) contract as a researcher and/or tenured professor.
