the candidate for the position of Researcher may have a broad educational spectrum and interests - both theoretical and applied - including cognitive and social neuroscience, advanced signal processing and modeling of brain, peripheral signals and behavioral data. The candidate will therefore have to develop new translational approaches that integrate psychological sciences with economics, humanities and engineering.
Finally, the candidate must have an excellent knowledge of the different computational approaches and the analysis of behavioral, central and peripheral body data, acquired in the laboratory, in the field or remotely with innovative neuroscience and psychophysiology techniques. Furthermore, the mastery of programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, C/C++, JavaScript, etc.) will be fundamental for the definition of experimental paradigms, for the management and acquisition of behavioral data, metadata or biosignals (MRI/EEG/ sEEG/ECoG/biosignals), and for the implementation of advanced analytical approaches. Demonstrated knowledge of common Open Science practices in data management and publication will also be important.
RESEARCH
The researcher will have to pay specific attention to the issues relating to the "Economic and Digital Resilience" (RED) project and the activities of the Open Lab (https://openlab.imtlucca.it), also collaborating with the researchers who participate. The researcher's experimental work must be conducted using a combination of different methodological approaches that integrate computational methods and data processing. Furthermore, in relation to the integrated activities carried out by the School, the candidate will have to promote the opening of computational, cognitive and social neurosciences towards other disciplinary fields aimed at the study of human behavior and its large-scale systems. The researcher will also be able to integrate into the experimental activities already present at the School (e.g., experimental activities with the Neuroscience Lab of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, with AVIS Nazionale, with the Game Science Research Center) and contribute to the definition of joint projects between different disciplines.
TEACHING
The researcher will be called upon to carry out teaching activities mainly within the Doctoral Course in Cognitive Computational and Social Neurosciences and for selected topics of the Doctoral Course in Economics, Analytics and Decision Sciences, as well as to offer a contribution to the supervision of students, to the organization of seminars, conferences and other scientific and cultural initiatives of the School. Furthermore, he/she will be able to carry out teaching assignments within the joint Master's Degree Courses, such as "Bionics Engineering" (University of Pisa), "Forensic Psychology and Criminology" (University of Padua), "Data Science and Statistical Learning" (University of Florence).
THIRD MISSION
The candidate will mainly integrate - with specific and qualified skills scientific fields that are of great relevance not only for cognitive sciences, neurosciences and psychological disciplines, but also for social sciences - also the Third Mission activities (technological and methodological transfer, scientific dissemination, open science and citizen science practices, etc.) of the School and the OpenLab. The new figure will represent, in this sense, a very important resource for the School because it will allow us to activate collaborations on research projects with the main national and international stakeholders in a scientific sector of intersection between disciplines and in full expansion, supporting activities aimed at encourage the direct application, valorisation and use of the knowledge, skills and research activities that the candidate will carry out.
PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences or similar topics.
