San Francesco Complex - classroom 2
Mechanics of continua and structures plays a key role in how growth, remodelling and morphogenesis do all interact with stress and fluid flow in living systems, this Multiphysics coupling often unveiling complex underlying mechanisms originating from cascades of events that occur across scales.
Through selected paradigmatic examples, we show how competition logics at the cells level can be projected at the macroscopic scale to enrich elastic equilibrium and mass balance equations for finally fitting puzzle pieces together.
