Italian language and culture course
In order to promote the interaction of the international students with the territory of Lucca, IMT School offers and organises every year the Italian Language and Culture Course to the new international PhD students. The course normally starts at the beginning of each Academic Year and the duration of the course is 70 hours in total, divided into 35 lessons of 2 hours each. The classes are held in one of the ground floor classrooms on the San Francesco Campus. The level of the course is A1 (beginner) to let the new students starting with the basics of the Italian language; in any case before the course begins, the level of knowledge of the Italian language is checked with a mandatory placement test. At the end of the course, each student will receive the attendance certificate (if the student will attend the course at least 75%) and the level certificate (if the student will pass the final test).

IMT School has activated some agreements with other Tuscan Universities/Linguistic Centres that offer a lot of language courses, to let the international students to learn not only Italian, but also other languages.
