Cultural heritage studies; history of collecting; protection of cultural heritage in case of wars, claims and restitutions
The appointed candidate must develop a research on the protection of cultural heritage in the "Alpe Adria Region" between First and Second World War. Her/his activities will fall within the frame of the HERA project “Transfer of Cultural Objects in the Alpe Adria Region in the 20th Century”(TransCultAA - https://www.transcultaa.eu/). A special attention wil be devoted to the role of institutions committed to the safeguarding of cultural heritage (in particular the Soprintendenza del Veneto), in the Alpe Adria Region. Claims and restitution issues at the end of the Second World War, in particular between Italy and ex Jugoslavia, represent a research case study.
Excellent knowledge of history of the protection of cultural heritage between the Nineteenth and the Twentieth Century, especially during war periods; significant numbers of publications in the field; participation in Italian and international research groups. Excellent knowledge in archival research, analysis, management and interpretation of documentary sources.
Post-graduate degree in cultural heritage or areas related to the subject indicated in this announcement.
The candidate must have a suitable background for carrying out research activity.
An excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English is mandatory.

Procedure
A Selection Committee, appointed by the Director, assesses all applications on the basis online application info and - if provided - reference letters. Shortlisted candidates, selected on the basis of the preliminary analysis, are invited for a research presentation at IMT. Travel expenses to Lucca for the research presentation interview will not be reimbursed.

The evaluation criteria are based on: Quality of research activity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and references; Research organization experience and participation in international/national research projects and research periods in public and private institutions (academic and non-academic); Relevance of the candidate's profile for the development of IMT's research activities; Teaching, mentoring and supervision experience; Motivation; Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken; As well as any other requirements as specified in the advertisement.
